Warehouse Lighting Control System For Worldwide Logistics Company
Intelligent Environments Ltd were contracted by Ward Chandler Electrical to deliver the lighting controls for the international air and ocean logistics facility recently completed for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Limited at Auckland Airport.
One of the world’s leading privately owned global logistics providers, Hellman Worldwide Logistics was found in 1871 in German. The fourth generation, family-owned company has an active network of over 19,000 people in 443 branches in 157 countries.
The company’s new ambient and controlled-temperature warehousing facility occupies a prominent site on the corner of George Bolt Memorial Drive and Landing Drive.
ECS, the electrical consultants for the project, proposed a C-Bus lighting control solution to provide lux control for the warehousing facility, with time schedules and daylight sensing for external and security lighting. Lighting control within stairwells was provided via standalone occupancy sensors (CP Electronics).
“Our owners, Jost and Klaus Hellmann, have committed Hellmann globally to a very high bar in terms of service excellence, quality, innovation and environmental care. This development ticks all the right boxes,” says Chris McCagney, Hellmann’s NZ managing director.
“The move to this unique facility at Auckland Airport will bring together the ambient and controlled-temperature operations of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and Hellmann Perishable Logistics in Auckland onto a single prime site, increasing our agility, operating efficiency and capacity for growth.”
“The warehousing and international air and ocean logistics facility will incorporate a significant investment by Hellmann in environmentally friendly and energy efficient controlled-temperature infrastructure. This reinforces our commitment to many of New Zealand’s leading exporters and importers”.
