July saw the official opening of the new BMW Motorrad showroom on Auckland’s North Shore. Sitting alongside the country’s largest BMW car dealership, Sime Darby have created a real hub for BMW enthusiasts.
A zencontrol DALI-2 system was installed and commissioned for the showroom lighting management in this exciting destination for the motorbike community.
As the building had to be commissioned and handed over in stages, the showroom lighting controls design utilised zencontrol DALI-2 application controllers and we worked closely with the electrical contractors, Team Cabling to ensure project requirements and timeframes were met.
DALI sensors and switches control the small offices/meeting rooms and service areas to ensure lighting is turned off in when rooms are unoccupied.
Outside lighting is provided by DALI RGBW fittings.
The RGBW DMX lights are controlled directly from the zencontrol application controller which provides colour changing and pre-set scenes for the external displays. With up to 192 DMX channels this zencontrol DMX solution provides a cost-effective reliable solution for DMX requirements.
The new showroom includes a ride and style area for its new models as well as a heritage area focussed on classically styled bikes. A customer lounge and reception area, provides a real destination for motorbike enthusiasts, and those wanting to experience the world of BMW Motorrad.
As well as the display of new motorcycles, there is a wide range of motorcycle helmets, riding apparel and other motorcycle accessories. Showroom lighting is uncomplicated, but effectual.
The brand-new showroom is the first time the new BMW Motorrad “Make Life a Ride” corporate identity has been used in New Zealand but the intention is to gradually roll out the design nationwide to the dealership network.
Intelligent Environments were thrilled to be involved in this “first for New Zealand” exciting motorcycle destination store!
